We pick you up - We pick you up from your home in the morning at a time to suit you.
3 Hour activity sessions - We believe that instead of trying to cram in a hundred activities in a day, you should have a real taste of what they're about, so all of our activity sessions are 3 hours long to make sure you get your teeth into what you're doing.
Different Locations - Rather than trying to have everything in one place we travel so that we can ensure the best locations, equipment and instructors possible for each individual activity.
Lunch provided - We provide a healthy and filling lunch using only organic ingredients making sure that we provide for all tastes and food requirements.
Group Leaders - Our group leaders are the cream of the crop and they are with you every step of the way, so there's always a friendly and familiar face to hand.
A day with refuse boredom:
| 7.00am - 8.30am - Pick up | The REFUSE BOREDOM minibus comes round to your house to pick you up at the pre-arranged time, your team leader ensures you have everything you need for the day, you jump on the bus and off we go! |
| 9.00am - Morning meeting | Once everyone is on board we sit down with the team leaders to introduce anyone new, reel off the fact of the day and set the days riddle, (figure it out before the end of the day and you could earn your team bonus points). We also go through the team scores for the week so far, with much cheering and gasping, before getting back on the bus to travel to our first activity. |
| 10.00 - 12.00- Morning Activity | Usually by 10am we are at the first activity of the day. Most of our activities are lead by specialist instructors, although your group leaders are there to help and encourage you as well. Our sessions last 3 hours with a break in the middle, or maybe a few breaks if it's something particularly strenuous. If it's a new activity it will generally start with a safety briefing from our instructors, having a go, a little coaching to improve skills then moving on to some harder tasks to get you confident with what you're doing. We then have some competitive games to let you earn points for your team. |
| 12.00 - 1.00 - Lunch Break | We find somewhere to relax for lunch - if it's sunny we'll usually find a nice picnic spot for us to chill and play games in, if it's not too nice out we'll find somewhere inside to sit so that we can sit and eat. Our group leaders bring out a filling organic feast. Then it's jump back in the minibus so we can let our stomachs settle on the way to the next activity. |
| 2.00 - 5.00 | The afternoon activity again runs for three hours with a little break in the middle. If the activity is something that your team has done before then we generally start off where we left off. Whether you're proving you have the basic skills down to be part of NICAS(National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme), learning more advanced canoe techniques or tweaking the last bits of your team's stunning circus skills or TAIKO performance, it's a rush to fit everything into one afternoon. |
| 5.30 - End of Day | We have a chill out session at the end of the day where we reflect on what we've acheived, It's a time to learn about each other, how we felt about the day and for you to let us know exactly what you thought of the day. We reveal the riddle of the day, if no-one figured it out, and let everyone know what they need to bring for tomorow. |
| 6.00 - 7.00 - Drop Offs | It's always sad to see you guys leave us (we would keep you if we could) but apparently your family want to see you too! But don't worry, we'll see you again tomorrow so that we can try something else just as amazing. Night. |
